“How-To-Tuesday”: Tassle Garland

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!  While cruising the internet one evening, I came across this lovely DIY via The Sweetest Occasion.  It’s a tribute to Confetti System  and their lovely event decorations and installations!  Confetti System has a special place in my heart. They use the prettiest color combinations, never fear gold and silver mixed together, and their career is one big party!

But let’s get to the details so you can make your own!
Supplies:
Tissue Paper
Scissors
Hot Glue Gun
Cord

First, fold one sheet of tissue paper in half width-wise, and then fold it over twice length-wise. With your scissors, cut strips of fringe about 1/4″ wide along the unfolded short edge of your folded tissue, leaving about 1-2″ of uncut tissue at the folded edge.

Open your sheet and lay it out. You should have a sheet of tissue with fringe on either side with a solid section down the center. Using the solid center section, begin to roll the tissue paper up, being careful to keep the fringe untangled.  If the fringe gets too tangled it can rip quiet easily.

After the entire section is rolled, twist the center tightly. Then curl it in on itself to create a loop, and secure with a small dot of hot glue if needed

Create as many of these as you need to complete your look. String your tassel onto a cord and hang against a wall to make your room nice and fancy!

I think it would be great to do a cluster of these tassels in the corner of a room at varying lengths OR string them above an entry way for a grandeur affect.

Enjoy making these (maybe even for a sweetheart surprise this evening!) and thanks to The Sweetest Occasion for the easy to follow steps!
